Busy Bee!

I just finished my sketchbooks, which is actually a big deal. The thing is, I've had a tendency to get really excited about a new project or clean slate and I'll tend to just stop. But I filled this one from cover to cover, and I'm proud. I also have been pretty diligent in finishing big projects! So I'm pretty happy overall. This is a fun way to track progress too, and I think I'm slowly but surely progressing.

I'm working on making some pretty important decisions in the coming months, and all the same still drawing and derping around.

I have a lot of stupid ambitions, and one of them is to write a fantasy novel based on the adventures I had as a kid. These were some early concepts of the characters.

I end up drawing my character Cam a lot nowadays. He has bear arms :)

I've been having the hardest time sleeping lately! I haven't gone to bed before 1:30 for weeks!

Ganon?

I was taking some monster concepts from The Hyrule Historia, because I don't draw enough monsters

EVIL LEMUR CAT

THIS THING. THIS. THING.

Thank you Rex.

Moar Cam

I drew Brea as Pony. :)

Merida, is that you?

A crappy assignment from Animation class

Pardon the outfit! This was a request from online!

School times!

Hello, sorry it's been awhile. A ton of things have happened in the last couple of weeks, including starting college. Holy cow, it's pretty awesome.

My very favorite part about it (obviously) is my animation class. My teacher is awesome, and my peers are awesome. We're all dorks, geeks, nerds, and everything in between. The most intimidating thing is that they kind of expect you to be a good artist already, which in that area I feel completely inadequate. So I've been taking steps to really develop my skills.

One of those steps is drawing horribly.

The only way I have found I can get better is to keep drawing, and not spending days and days on one drawing. I bought a nice pen so that I couldn't erase, so that's been a real experience... So from here on out you're gonna see stuff that really sucks. I thought about cutting it out of my photos, but that wouldn't be fair. It's not realistic. I've got to get over my fear of people seeing my worst drawings. So, without further ado, here's some stuff that I've been doing over the past weeks. These are not in order btw.

Heard of Five nights at Freddy's? This is probably an accurate description of what I would be doing and whimpering if I played that game.

This was the first time I used my pen. It was... fun

I've drawn a bazillion circles. Seriously I'm only posting this to prove that I've filled pages entirely of only circles.

The next two were requests from people on the internet, so pardon the style of dress. I started doing requests mostly to see if I could handle doing commissions and what I could potentially charge.

Next time I'll post my backdrop and ball animation from class. :)

A million and two things to do

Since the end of school I've had a ton of extra time to draw. It's flipping fantastic. One thing I regret however is not finishing 'The Smash Bretheren' (Four pieces I was requested to do during the school year). Well, that's not entirely true. I had all four of them finished shortly after they were requested, but they were absolute junk. I know what you're thinking, "Heather whatever. They probably weren't even bad at all."

To a certain point, I am a perfectionist in my artwork. I ended up doing these four pieces about a dozen times each, every single one in a different style. I still have one to finish, but I figure I might as well start posting them.

Hence, Luckyman.

This was a concept of a Superhero of my own creation called Black Emerald.

More sketchy concept stuff.

Oh Ness, you rascal.

I'm not sure why I'm uploading this. It's really just me just trying grasp colors in a landscape. I wish I was better at landscapes.

These next ones are from my sketchbook. Sorry about the quality, I really wish I had a functional scanner currently...

Let's get one thing clear. I love Power Puff Girls with all my heart, but how the heck do they walk around on those little nubs with the enormous weight of their heads?

That's all for now folks! :)
